Conventions Of Film Openings

The film opening I selected to demonstrate the conventions was 'Money Talks'

The film opens with a soundtrack playing 'my first, my last, my everything' by Barry White and introducing the production company logo as well as giving an upbeat tempo to the film, giving the audience a sense of mood.
The main character is then introduced immediately and also is singing along with the soundtrack establishing a comic genre, while again showing the production logo to introduce the film and the names of actors production team and camera crew.

The opening credits consist of  the acting characters names showing their importance and significance toward the film.
Finally the title of the film is included. This prepares the audience for the begininng of the film and sets the mood through the previous build up.
